Course 1: Introduction to Appreciative Inquiry

Overview of Appreciative Inquiry as whole, with a brief discussion of each of the “5 Ds” (DEFINE, DISCOVER, DREAM, DESIGN, and DESTINY) and the “5 Principles” (Constructionist, Simultaneity, Poetic, Anticipatory, and Positive).

After this microlearn, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the basic tenets of AI as a tool for change.
  • Order the 5-D’s of AI.
  • Identify the 5 principles that underpin all of AI.
  • Summarize why an AI summit works to make rapid, sustainable change
  • Explain how the 5-D cycle is used to develop an AI summit
