I love the work that I do, particularly the partnerships that I have had the honor of creating and fostering in the field of refugee and immigrant health.
Three words to describe me:
collaborative, kind, resilient
The best part of my job:
working with community partners to find innovative ways to turn community expertise into practical resources for public health professionals
Something that would surprise others about me:
I love traveling, and I have been very fortunate to visit over 50 countries.
Erin Mann is the Principal Investigator for the National Resource Center for Refugees, Immigrants, and Migrants (NRC-RIM) at the University of Minnesota, which creates resources for health departments and community-based organizations supporting RIM communities disproportionately affected by health inequities. Erin worked with a dedicated team to launch NRC-RIM in October 2020 as part of the nation’s COVID-19 response.
At NRC-RIM, Erin oversees a portfolio of work focused on developing and disseminating promising practices, culturally and linguistically appropriate health communications, and training for public health professionals. She and her team are proud and grateful to learn from and work in partnership with affected communities. Erin received her Master’s in Public Health from Boston University and is pursuing a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Minnesota.
