We must tie citizen participation back into measuring government performance in order to rebuild trust in public health. This necessarily means greater transparency, shared decision-making in public health policy, and accessible open data.
Three words to describe me:
motivated, grateful, hopeful
The best part of my job:
Meeting and collaborating with public health practitioners across the country. It's interesting and oddly invigorating getting to know how different yet how similar we all are. While local contexts are so important, there are nuggets of highly generalizable wisdom that can be used to create transportable and scalable public health solutions across states, cities, and counties.
Something that would surprise others about me:
I grew up in the South Bronx in the 80s and 90s.
