In this interactive session, participants will learn to engage in local policy conversations and become strong advocates for public health in their communities through small group work, guided practice, and real-time feedback from subject matter experts. CityHealth Government Affairs Director Akeem Anderson, MPA, will lead this session.
Champion Conversations V: The Future of Health Equity with APHA Press Authors 2:30 – 4:00 PM | WCC – Ballroom C
Hear from APHA Press authors as they explore the future of health equity. This panel of public health leaders and scholars will also recommend takeaway actions to help advance health equity work. This interactive workshop will highlight best practices for data visualization, using a live case study of the new 2024 Public Health Workforce Interests and Needs Survey (PH WINS) workforce survey dashboards. Participants will learn how to design visuals that inform, inspire, and drive decision making. de Beaumont Senior Research Associate Maddy Popalis, MPH, will co-lead.
