APHA Policy Action Institute 2019: Proceedings

The 2019 American Public Health Association Policy Action Institute was a dynamic event that brought together advocates, leaders at all levels of government, and passionate public health practitioners in order to strategize ways to implement effective policy. Among the topics discussed were gun violence, Tobacco 21, AIDS and HIV, and access to reproductive services. The audience heard from the likes of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg, and Assistant Secretary of Health Brett Giroir. In concert with APHA and Adademy Health, the de Beaumont Foundation generated a proceedings of the event, in an attempt to document the day and capture the discussions and strategies outlined by outstanding speakers.
