We, as a society, need to reinvest in our social services and human infrastructure.
Three words to describe me:
passionate, innovative, dedicated
The best part of my job:
Being able to give back to the community I grew up in and building a program from the ground up
Something that would surprise others about me:
I love to hike and eventually want to hike Machu Picchu.
Amanda Monroy, Public Health Policy Program Manager for the Pima County Health Department, led the development of the county’s first-ever public health policy program. Leveraging her expertise in local governance, public health, and policy analysis, she expanded menstrual equity initiatives; co-authored pandemic recovery frameworks; and co-created a new policy, resilience, and equity office. Amanda established a nationwide learning collaborative for policy practitioners in local health departments, fostering collaboration and support for local policy infrastructure development, and aims to address the political determinants of health throughout her career.
Amanda holds a BA in international affairs from Northern Arizona University and a master’s in development practice from the University of Arizona.
